What size hook and which hook is this? Like the explanation of the CDC usage

What a great fly ! I used Kapok dubbing in light olive and the thorax in dark olive .Thanx for the pattern.👍✌

CDC is always difficult to fish in fast water because gets wet quickly. Do you treat it to float few more times or you just change fly after few casts?
